Hi all

Quick ish howdy..
I'm tentatively dipping my toes back into the RC world after a long hiatus.

I'll digress for a moment. From a young age, I was very much into building 1/72 scale matchbox kits, and then discovered Tamiya 1/35 scale.
Fascinated by WW2 kits, especially tanks.
As a teenager, I fell into Tamiya RC cars and quickly developed a habit of modifing anything I could lay my hands on.

So this leads me onto discovering Tamiya's 1/16 RC Tiger 1.
I bought said kit in view of building at my leisure in my spare time.
However, since the age of 18 I've been a signals and telecoms engineer on the railway with very little spare.
So the kit I bought was religated and eventually sold.

Present day has me tentatively looking at purchasing a boxed Tamiya's Tiger 1 (56011) + lots of extras.

I have some queries regarding the above kit, ie gear box, bearings etc.
I'm late to the party and would image these areas have been covered....

Anyway, not exactly a quick hello!

Welcome aboard from Illinois. The Tiger 1 is my favorite tank although I’ve never built a Tamiya. You should have tons of fun and a great resource here.

Welcome, Paul, from another in the U.S. snowy northland. With a Tamiya Tiger I, you are starting out with a fine project! It's all fine if you are busy and slow at your interesting career. I am retired, and I am still pokey slow. But it seems there is always someone to answer questions, and it's a great help to me. So ask as you dive into the project, and keep us informed so we can cheer you on!
