Those turrets certainly are a treat..........................I can see already the supply of T34 HL lowers disappearing !!

Re: Every flavour of T-34
I finally got the ventilation/filtration setup finished during the week, so it's time to restart the printers that have been down for more than four months now.
It's taken some time getting the printers configured again since I've lost all of my resin profiles (Lychee helpfully didn't save them because there are "community profiles in the cloud" ), but it looks like I'm back in business!
I've also reconfigured my elevation/recoil design to use a common system with interchangeable parts for the L-11, F-34 and ZiS-4 guns. It's not quite as prototypical as the previous version, but takes up less room in the turret and should be less visible from the hatches above.
Got a few little projects promised for friends and family first, but I should be able to get to some test prints for the new turrets and mechanicals during the week. It'll be good to make some tangible progress for a change!

Re: Every flavour of T-34
And here are said test prints:
I'm pretty happy with how it's turned out. Still needs some adjustments to the drawings, but it's beginning to look the part. The fixed details turned out pretty well.
Again, this really shows the advantages of 3D printing over injection moulding; the turret, ring and gun mount are all a single piece!
Going places now, just need to make some changes and then it's time to get on with the other variants.

Re: Every flavour of T-34
Very, very nice.... Would be even nicer if it was sitting on one of my many T-34 hulls....

Re: Every flavour of T-34
Cheers Derek, I'll be able to do one for you if you like. Should hopefully have the design finalised soon, including the early-style driver's hatch and other accessories. Just in case you need yet another project to add to the pile!

I've also been working on some early-style tracks, too.
I'm not sure how they'll pan out yet, but it'll be great if they can hold up to any amount of RC use. I've collected a wide range of various engineering resins, I'm sure I'll be able to blend something together!
Yep, like Herman said I did a set for his SU-85.

Re: Every flavour of T-34
First print of the early-style cast turret (what Trumpeter calls the 1942 model, even though they were produced from 1940 onwards!), and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. A few layer shifts and print artefacts due to user error on my part; I got a bit lazy with the supports and forgot that I need to heat the resin at this time of year. Still, the actual design of the turret looks like it works well.
I've got this one armed with the long-barrelled 57mm ZiS-4, and it makes for an impressive alternative to the stumpy little 76mm L-11 on the previous one!
I also thought I'd include a family portrait of a few recent acquisitions from an estate sale, looks like I'll be moving on to KV and IS variants when I'm done with T-34s!

Looooove that Zis- 57 mate, thats turned out perfectly. "white 20"here we come
The new additions to the stable are going to keep you busy for ages too. I know you are not a rough-N-ready beaten to death looking tank fan, but they seem to suit the theme of their build well.
