I've finally managed to get the Abrams squared away. I bought this from Edelweiss as a rolling shell but beautifully painted. I wanted to bring it up to the same mechanical and electrical standard as my other modern armour. To this end I've done the following:

- Resin pour on the lower hull to stiffen
- PDSGB double differential gearbox
- Metal suspension arms
- Metal wheels with bearing and rubber tyres
- Metal sprockets and idlers
- Metal rubber pad tracks
- Henntec idler adjuster
- WPC model speaker box with FR7 speaker
- Clark universal rotation with deck level switch
- Clark tk60spg2 for 2 axis stabilisation
- led flash
- coaxial machine gun led
- Magnet conversion for the turret top to facilitate easy access for battery changes

I've tried to paint and weather the replacement metal bits to match the rest of the tank.

I'm very pleased with how this turned out, it runs and functions nicely.

Great job!!!
It looks like he just came back from the battlefield.

Btw. I think I might have something for your Abrams. Just take a look at my post here.

8O I have never seen weathering quite like that: it is just as I imagine an Abrams coming in from months in the desert. And the Tank Urban Survival KIt 2 creates a "busy" look, making the whole remarkable. When you run it, stop long enough for others to OOOH and AHHH!

Then, too, it looks as if the Loch Ness Monster is after your laundry. :haha:
