Being a 'tank' forum I thought perhaps a Cavalryman's greeting would be a little appropriate .. :)

I chose this forum as it seemed to be the one where I may get answers to questions I have, (see my post in RC Cars and Trucks),

I live in Yorkshire though I'm not Yorkshireman by birth, an 'oft comed un' as they say here, Im a photographer, old school having been film trained in 1966/67 in the RAF, into modelling in a small way and like to get things right, again things will probably be clearer when my post is viewed, and Im looking forward to some interesting interaction and discussion.

Welcome! Do you photograph your models, print the photos, and then scan them to upload to, say, RCTankWarfare? :) It will be fun to see your accomplishments, and I am eager to jump over to your question (even though others are better at answering).

Hi .. smiling a little as you seem to assume I still shoot on film .. to be honest I do but only in WWII re-enactment where I portray a War Correspondent/Photographer, I only ever shoot on film at those events and only use 1930's and 1940's dated cameras, really believe if its going to be done it should be done right ..!

So in answer to your question, no I don't do that, I have gone digital and shoot on digital for day to day stuff including the models etc using a full frame camera (D700), the pics on my Jeep topic are all straight digital, hope that doesn't disappoint .. ??? :)

Oh, no disappointment at all: I understand the advantages of digital photos and I quickly overcame the feeling that I was cheating. :haha: Some years ago, I used a pre-war camera handed down from my late wife's father. I recall the hilarious trouble I had trying to follow moving tractors at plowing or other field work, looking down through the camera body.
