Re: RC 1/16 Bren Carrier revisited
It's sometimes difficult to visualise the scale of a project so here is the Bren Carrier against the Churchill - David and Goliath!
Whilst the BGC is smaller and quicker to build, it's tricky to design and fit everything into it's small size.

Coming along really nicely, can't wait to see the test videos.
If you want, i can print you off a bunch of rifles and Bren guns in resin and post them across, just let me know

Your hubby is becoming quite the slave driver, but at least he trusts you with his printersWCP RC MODELS wrote:Coming along really nicely, can't wait to see the test videos.

Moving quickly on from the scaling pics (oops ) the gearbox design is moving ahead
On initial review I think an extra bearing is going to be needed next to the motor.

Updated the design and test fitted it to the chassis with the bearing fitted to the chassis wheel mount
Just for scale there is my set of small pliers
I just need the geared motors to finish the design and install

Re: RC 1/16 Bren Carrier revisited
Thanks Carl, it has turned out quite well.
I received a set of motors bought on e-bay as I got fed up of waiting for the chinese ones and here they are fitted
I actually thought these motors looked a bit puny, but I hooked a 5v battery to them and they appeared to do pretty well. I don't have the electronics yet as they are coming from 35rctank in hong kong but I'm going to try and jury rig something tomorrow to test them out.
