. Take the Sherman for instance This is what Forgebear is doing it for.

Turns out no cheaper. and he is charging £ 151 for a package of three. Whats the price of postage for one ? I don't want to sound super critical and I appreciate the work you have done on this, but if I had a choice, I would rather deal with Forgebear and his similar pricing. You know you are going to get good customer service from him. Finally, I think the vendor could have done a lot better with his pricing for such a potentially lucrative order. But that is just my opinion.
As they say on dragons Den, I wont be investing, so I'm out.
Cheers
STEINER

would like to chime in too
dont forget that you also have to add import duty and taxes .. so add up to another £100 to the price ( 25 to 30 % ) is usualy the the sort of level that the customes charge
for me .. forgebear is the best deal around ! ..

I have to be honest and say that I was hoping for a better deal. It does sound as though the Tamiya distribution network is very tightly controlled, and that he cannot source tanks for less than a retailer here can. I think that we were looking at the price that started this whole thing off, eg King Tiger @ £140, and were hoping for something similar. £300+ for a Sherman isn't quite the deal that I was hoping for, and has been said, I too was hoping for an offer I could not refuse.
Ah well...HL Sherman it is then.

Im sorry guys, the vendor really has been working flat out to get the best deal he can. The £140 was a one off deal, and he says the cost of these kits is more than most would think.
Im sorry I couldn't do more for you lot. It really has consumed time, and I wasn't even going to get one. I wanted to get the best deal for this forum I could. Sorry if anyone is angry or annoyed. I hope I havent let you guys down.

Rik, Don,t be hard on yourself, you have done your best. Obviously, the vendor still wants a substantial cut. Theres no love in business.

Rik,I was wanting a KING TIGER,and I know how difficult this has been for you.Perhaps the vendor will find a way to cut the cost even more.If we committed to 36 tanks maybe he could go lower,I was prepared to pay 400us for full option KT.I am still in if you can give me the KT cost,or is it not available? The guy I was dealing with was very respectable, and wasn't making any profit from the deal. Its the Asian vendors that have hiked the price up, probably because we want a big order. As I said, I wasn't even in it to get one myself. Just trying to help you guys.
Blake, the prices were the only one I got. If I get any other prices i'll let you know, but I think this is as far as it'll go.
Matt, i'll ask for you. Its a real shame, and I wish I could've done more for you all.
