It is ANZAC Day today and with my deep regret it will go almost uncelebrated in the UK,
As far as I am concerned it is much more than remembering the sacrifice at Gallipoli of Australian and New Zealanders but the following conflicts including my own friendship with these brave and ever cheerful antipodian's in the Indonesian conflict in the 60s.
I shall be downing a cold one in memory of some good mates tonight

I share my respect and wishes for long lives for all veterans, and I hope for peace for all people. Alas, how long until we must remember the veterans of current wars, not only in Ukraine, but around the world. Dona nobis pacem

We are again reminded that being able to live free comes at a cost.
Anzac Day in Australia and New Zealand.
We are off to an official commemoration shortly.
Having been to Gallipoli for the Centenary, today takes on a deeper meaning.
The staggering waste and lost potential of life just cannot be explained with adequacy.
