We have done a few different winches when requested, it started with our Vietnam era looking single & dual winches, but we ahve done some others.

Some rough pictures of simple to more elaborate looking winches

If anyone is after a working scale winch which has power to haul load, let us know

It can drag 3kg single line haul on 2s lipo before it stalls
We have however setup a pull with snatch blocks single & double, so will need to get some videos
But you can see the single line haul is enough to drag a model of a small truck

I am working on a larger winch which setup on snatch blocks should haul 10kg on a 2s lipo

We are basically designing winches to use small N20 motors, all the way up to 37mm motor cans.
The N20 are good for a faux looking winch, but really cannot haul more than 1kg, so reserved for tiny things. The gearboxes are the weak link, but the winches above are using the next step up from N20.

As for electronics, we use a small esc to drive the motor, so a stick is required, however others have used 3 position switches on a servo or other setups.
You can also buy simple blutooth switches and remotes if you want seperate control.

The small motors can use as little as a 1s lipo around 4v, but we have been testing our motors upto 4s lipo power! Although that is maybe a little extreme haha

We have single pulley and dual pulley snatch block designs and so far the medium single pulley has been tested to 12kg! It is 3d printed plastic in PLA, we also have a smaller snatch block which is 5kg.
We are going to do more designs of these for different setups.
The pulleys have metal ball races and the bolts feed thru brass bushings to help distribute the load into the plastic material. More pictures to follow
