Hey guys,
Im a long time modeler and a professional miniatures painter. I decided to dive into the world of RC tanks and haven't looked back since. The modeling of it is for me and my boys love the functionality.
Can 1/16th model kits (non RC) be used for RC tanks?

Thank you all, I have already found some very useful information here.

Hello and welcome to our forum. Yes, some of guys, including me, converted static kits to RC but it requires some skills, tools and materials. What kit you have in mind?

Thanks for the reply. I really havent picked a kit yet and was kind of on a fact finding mission to see if it could be done. I know the current offerings from the main brands eventually won't be enough to quell my hunger. lol. If you know of any build threads related to my question, please let me know.

Hi there, Maverick! Here on RCTW, I have followed quite a few remarkable conversions of static kits in 1/16. I was thinking about how I would use the search function (upper right) to check for examples, and I admit I am a bit stumped. Perhaps the term "kit" or "static" would work, but they would cast a wide net and might yield too much. An better idea is for you to do an "introduction" of yourself in viewforum.php?f=42 as is customary here on RCTW. We would be happy to learn more about your modeling experience and even to see examples of your modeling work if you wish to post photos. Then, too, from the "Introduce Yourself" section, you may get the attention of those who have done conversions of static kits.
