Let’s talk final production modifications and changes! Anyone know how many mid production turrets and final production turrets where manufactured? When was the thicker top plate armor added and when was the 3 fittings/anchor points added for the small hoist? Also I see so many cupolas that are welded but I was told they weren’t welded on and in fact bolted on from underneath, can anyone confirm this? Also was the loader hatch welded on or bolted? From photos of real tigers it appears to be recessed in the plate and bolted and perhaps the hinges for the loaders hatch were welded? Also anyone know when the turret protection rings were added? And do you have pictures or know anyone who makes them? I have no problem trying to make one but know id probably struggle with correct scale? Also does anyone know if I’m fact late production tigers were in fact covered in red oxide primer? What about the German yellow? Was that applied over the red primer at the factory?

Hi,
The Turret Ring Guard was added in February 1944,
The Turret Roof was increased to 40mm thickness in March 1944,
3 Sockets were added for the Boom in June 1944.

I went a different way & got to this.
The splinter ring is about half way down the page
