Hello everyone, here is an update on my rear floor, very complicated to make, all your measurements have to be spot on, i still have a ways to go, I'm about 60% done with it. and yes, i still need diamond plate, don't know when i will get around to making it but for now I'm just using steel plate which will be templates for when i do get diamond plate. I am very happy with how well this is turning out.

Alignment looks perfect. Are you cutting and folding everything yourself ?

Yes Adrian, to get a perfect bend in the sheet metal i put a slight groove in the metal with my dremel cut off wheel, i clamp a straight edge to the sheet metal so my Dremel wheel makes a perfectly straight line, then i fold it. On the thicker angle iron i just buy a square metal tube with the right wall thickness and cut 4 angle irons from it. And yes i was surprised too at how everything lined up and fit together perfectly.

I'm certainly envying and enjoying the skill you are demonstrating. I find myself wondering about the electronics and motor yet to come. How many horsepower? :haha:

Thanks, as for the motor I'm looking at a high torque motor out of a powered wheelchair. I'm still debating on whether to have my front axle powered or not, this halftrack will be mainly for display but i still would like to see it move on its own at a scale speed, i could always add a working front axle later. as for battery placement i was planning on building an ammo trailer to carry it, otherwise the battery would have to be under the hood, so by putting it in the trailer i can build a detailed engine. for the steering i was looking at the biggest high torque servo i could find with a servo saver similar to the 1/6 scale Armortek German halftrack, also looking at a mini hydraulic ram for steering, I'm very anxious to get started on the suspension.
