I have been looking in to these Tanks that seem to have more detail, better paintwork, and an overall more realistic look.Heng-Long tends to be solid colors,or a plastic looking camo, and the details are rather generic in appearance.tools,cable.other details are all the same colors from tank to tank.So what about the running gear and electronics of these tanks? To me the paintwork is better than H/L,but I know little about their internal parts. So those that know please post your experiences, and opinions on this subject. Thanks Saxondog

The Torro one also has the correct assymetrical turret and offset barrel. I believe it has rubber tires on the road wheels as well.
But from what i've read, the plastic can be a bit flimsy, so you'd be best to structurally reinforce it with plasticard or brass strips. This would make it a better runner.
Before I got my Tamiya Tiger, I was planning on putting the upper hull of one of these on an Asiatam lower hull, than you get the best of both worlds.

Cheers,
Rik

Is that a straight swap without any mods doing. that is to a standard plastic lower HL Hull, or do you mean putting it on top of a new type metal hull ?

On top of the new metal hull. You'd need to put the suporrts in on the upper hull to make it lock into the lower hull. I never got around to it though, but it looked somple enough.

Sax, I had to do a lot of work in terms of time and expense to convert my HL Tiger to a late model. If you check out the Mid/late Tiger
updates to the M/T WSN Tiger, they are virtually all there. And do you know what, what it cost me in terms of time and money to convert it to a late mark, I could have bought a late version M/T WSN Tiger out right

If I had checked it out at the time, I would have. They say the M/T WSN electrics are worse than HLs. If thats the case then that must be pretty bad because HLs are poor. Its also said that the plastic Hull is weak/flimsy. The ideal situation is as GM says and use the upper M/T WSN hull on a Asiatam/HL lower hull. Blake, I think Ozs Tigers are WSN, he would give you a full update on them.

Thanks Steiner,we have both spent alot of time and money. When were new to something we don't allways take the right path. The Torro TIGER-1 is later production than mine, but the paintwork is very much similar to what I have tried to achieve. The electronics would have been a problem at first, but since the Creeping Death turret fried my boards anyway I have spent that money too.If the Tamiya pallet purchase fails, then I will consider a King TIGER FROM MATORRO,AND UPGRADE TO H/L ELECTRONICS W/RCCOMMAND BATTLE SYSTEM.SAX
