Hi.
It was a long time again. This one is growing really slowly.
Slowly but surely.
I just need to print the rubber on the wheels.
And test the engines and suspension.

Photo of the turret so far without details.
These are already painted green, but are not glued yet.
I lost the aluminum tape, important for the periscopes, when moving to another country. :headbang:

Thank you, guys.Crispness is my goal.
I still haven't found that aluminum tape so I can't finish the periscopes.
Whatever... I can keep working on the other parts.

One of my favorite parts is mounted.
The third and final version of the searchlight.
5mm LED - warm white.

The lens is printed - PMMA material (real plexiglass).
The inner structure of the lens is actually infill. One-directional infill.Easy to prepare and no need to draw it.
Of course, working with PMMA is not easy, but with a little practice it goes well.

The thing is starting to move.
I'm happy with the smoothness of the turret ring.
It can be controlled with a Mg955 servo or TT motor.
Of course, as always, they can be swapped between each other in a few minutes without much work.
I suppose the servo will behave better at lower speeds, but I'll only tell you that after thorough testing.
Anyway, it's calculated that at 220rpm the TT motor (or at 220rpm in general) the turret will rotate at the same maximum speed as the turret of a real Cromwell.

Thank you very much.Yes. It's finally done.
And yes, it can be bought as a kit or as a assembled model.

So...
It's a big and heavy model - the hull measures over 1 metre (over 41 inches) and weighs 24kg without battery (53 lbs).
Because of these parameters, it was a new challenge and I had a lot of technical issues to solve.
Of course, as always, the model does not include any plastic wheel axles.
Just as traditionally, the drive is designed without the use of plastic.
With a model this big, plastic gears would not last a minute of driving.
Still, I had to rebuild the prototype a lot before it started to ride well.
The mechanical parts are extremely stressed and therefore have to be very massive.

As for the STL files, with this model I set a new standard for my 1/6 scale STL.

Traditionally, it contains a lot of alternative parts.
But there are new additions:

1.
This is my first 1/6 scale model that can be printed on smaller printers like the Ender 3.
At the same time, thanks to the newly developed dual size printing system,
owners of large printers will not lose the advantage of a large print area.
With a large printer, you can print a model consisting of significantly fewer parts.

2.
The part numbers are embossed directly on the parts.
Only 1% of these markings are visible when the model is finished

3.
You can choose whether to move the cannon using levers or gears.
The system can be easily replaced at any time.

4.
New, configurable bill of material.
Dynamically displays the required material depending on the printer size and model configuration selected.
The printing instructions have also been improved.

There is:
– 316 basic STL files
– 174 alternative STL files
– 75 STL files for big printers
311 pages of assembly guide and 171 pages of printing guide.1013 pictures for the guides.
