Hi El-mod users

El-mod will within the next 14 days release a software update (chip exchange) to their Panzer Module. One of the major changes, is that acceleration is much faster than before. Some of us have had that "problem", forsing us to run in "fun mode"

Translated text below

"A larger software update for the tank engine is in the Anmarsch The last tests are conducted at the moment. I think that up to 2 weeks (sooner rather) it is so far. Here are the most important changes:

-Recognize the diagonals in 4 channel mode has been redesigned. It works now more reliable.
Spin turn has been redesigned. The tanks performs now only spin turn that if the tanks previously has been and the right lever in neutral position. It is not possible for slow, narrow curves accidentally triggering spin turn.
-Acceleration has been increased for all profiles.

More the Configurator parameters can be set:
-Adjustable for both servos in now: servo away reversal, speed, trail limit. This applies to all servo functions (pages/Höreh direction and RRZ)
Spin turn speed is adjustable
-Kettenquitschen is can be turned off, or it is possible, specify the driving level, to hear the Kettenquitschen is (only with Blaster software going 1.07 which demnächt).
-the speed of gun-Hebens/Senkens (via motor) is adjustable in seven stages.
Menu structure has been redesigned (there are now five menus: driving parameters, functions, servos, sound, parameters).

That's good news. Will this replacement chip work with the older Elmod systems too I wonder?

Thanks for the heads-up Steen.

I saw that too on Panzerketten. it should be available for all. Thomas updated my Thinktank board (the latest variant) after I badgered him about the terrible performance in anything other than fun tank mode. I have been reading the threads on Panzerketten and a few others have voiced the same opinion. Not enough power getting to the motors.

The reference to the configurator is their self-programming box that allows the user to alter the settings of the Thinktank board and customise how it performs. They are a tad expensive though.

Thomas has changed my Tiger profile so that it accelerates faster and has a faster turret turn, but left all other dynamics as they are. The only snag is that the board is now going in my T34, and I haven't got any gears so I can't test it!
