Old HL tiger back from the dead (eventually)

Hey commanders, I hope the pics I uploaded work, so I have a tiger 1 from 2007 that is very different than my daughters 7.0 tiger 1 including the wheel configuration and it already coming with metal suspension arms and heavy springs. Back in 07 when I got my tiger I bought some metal late model road wheels from mato toys or mato mart and I was unaware they still used some of the plastic road wheels like it shows in the picture. I’m stuck on trying to figure out how to use the metal wheels but use the new metal arms I bought because the old plastic one have mostly broken off. Not sure what hardware configuration I need. Also not sure if I should buy the metal rails because some of the plastic material has broken off or if should just buy a new lower plastic HL hull and go from there? I hope this makes sense! Any ideas are greatly appreciated, thanks!

This is my daughters new 7.0 tiger and it has the metal suspension arms and uses one long Allen head bolt into the arm. My old tiger with the half metal wheels and half plastic used a pin that was just pressed into the original plastic arms.

A Taigen lower hull might be a better option

I have changed the Heng Long Plastic Hull for a Taigen metal hull on all my Tigers and Jofaur is directing you to the best dealer in our hobby, Dave @

Hello, for info

this type of lower chassis, is a great option, just like Taigen or Torro, starts on a good basis.

Thanks for the replies everyone! those are some awesome looking options. i'm going to consider one for sure, if i can't at first come up with a solution to the older hull version and issue with the roadwheels i have. its silly but it has some sentimental value to it, but if i cant im not going to waste too much time on it.

It is worth remembering that the early Heng Long Tanks were made of a rigid plastic and were unable to take much abuse unlike the later Heng Long Tanks which are made of ABS,
The downside being that superglue debonder that helped to deconstruct a Tank does not work anywhere near as well on modern ABS.

Thanks for all the tips and advice! some great knowledge here. Im going to make a attempt at trying to make this work so ill have to figure out a solution for the axle/roadwheels/screws. if im unsuccessful ill say screw it and buy a new hull!
