Archer Foundry Casting Symbols

Hello Fellow Tankers,

Am Inquiring about Archer's Foundry Casting Symbols for U.S Tanks, particularly their product number AR88193 (symbols for Sherman tanks). I assume these are raised, dimensional decal-type transfers. I've seen a u-tube video by that prodigious magician, 'Uncle Night Shift,' apply a 1/35 set to a Sherman build of his and it looked to be a good way to place foundry symbols on our models. Anyone care to comment on them, say versus individually applied plastic symbols?

Thank all

You can find letters and numerals in plasticard, in various heights, on Ebay. Slater's make them. Simply cut out the ones you want and bond them to your Sherman's turret and hull.
5mm should be okay, but size them yourself. :D

Other companies make them as well.
The firm selling them on Ebay UK specialises in products for model railways, but the letters can work just as well on a tank.

Thanks. The old standbys are still a great source for numbers and lettering and I use them as needed. What caught my eye on this Archer release are the foundry symbols in addition to the numbers and letters. I have since learned that the markings are, in fact, raised to provide some dimensional relief, which is was what I was hoping.
