Thank you for the kind comments Will :D I'm slowly gathering bits and pieces along with information ready to begin this project. Before starting on my Rc journey I enjoyed military modelling and diorama building but haven't done much of this with the 1/16 stuff so looking forward to doing this again on the layout, I'll update with pics as the build ( slowly :/ ) progresses

Cheers,Lee.

Thanks for the info Tiger6, I've been doing some research on wartime locos and the railways in general, I'm planning on having a couple of locos running at different times with a variety of rolling stock showing the movement of troops and vehicles gathering somewhere on the south coast of Britain along with civilians leaving the area by rail also

Cheers,Lee.

You'll need a train full of Covenantors as well - aparently that was their principle contribution to the war effort, sitting on flat cars being hauled around the country for properganda purposes :haha:

I've got the Oxford rail Rail gun, It's from WW1 but was used in Dover in WWII. Its an awesome model if just to watch the 15 axels go over a set of points weighs about 500G as well. alot of model for the money.

That is very impressive looking stu, even in oo gauge :D
I've also been looking at the oxford rail and Bachmann warwell and warflat wagons, they come with either a Sherman or Cromwell load, bit pricey though at over £50 a pop especially if you want a few of them  hopefully I can come up with something suitable anyways

yes, I came up at the same thing, thing it when you look at the detail in the rail gun its stunning... and for £10 less you can have something that is a fraction of the complexity. however my rail set is a harry potter one for the kids. so I feel I can get away with a lot more as it a fictional environment to start with!

I happen to have a oo tank transporter and Sherman you can have for your set if you wish, I was going to try upscale it but it’s too small to do it
