Well the smoker works!
Picked up am old 27mhz Tiger for £10. I decided to mock it up as a knocked out tank that I could put in the background of my videos. this is some 12V LEDs and a 3g smoke pellet. Would really like to find some black smoke if I can,
Had a fun day using the drill to make shell impacts and cut out some sections, but then my air brush just didn't want to play and got clogged up. So stay tuned to see the finished result once I am done sulking with the airbrush!

Are you sure that was a
'smoke pellet' Stu?
That would make a hand party-size chillum, disguised as a tiger...er, I mean...of course... a military vaping device, what else?
I'm beginning to like this Vimeo app you have. I must check it out.

Whoa Ho!

I congratulate you on a great way to use and outdated HL tank. A bit of "burnt paint and iron" will make it all even more effective.

Thanks guys. This is turning out to be a good project to try new skills as it's not that valuable there is less pressure if it goes a bit wonky!
Plumbers use them to try and spot leaks in pipes. I might try the paint ball smoke grenades as well. But they cost a bit more.
Just to note that I bought these hoping of grey smoke. However it appears to be an error in the listing and only white is available.

So here is the finished result. not 100% happy with it. could not find a nice way of blending the none burnt out section, But as a project its been great as having a low value tank that does not really matter has meant that I've tried out a whole host to techniques that I would not normally be brave enough to do.
