Hi all

Sorry my first post is an asking for help one.

I bought a torro halftrack second hand, but found out too late that the steering servo isn’t working properly. I think, but not 100% sure, that the gears inside are knackered as there’s no movement when the controller lever is moved.. The motor inside seems to run all the time and make buzzing sounds.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to replace it with a suitable non torro one.
I’ve tried forgebear and torro in Germany, plus another supplier in the uk.
All say torro spares are very hard to get hold of right now.

If someone could advise me with this I’d be very grateful.

Hello, a photo of the said servo, would be welcome, because am not sure that it is a real servo? Maybe an all or nothing system (not proportional)
what is the radio type? 27 Mhz telescopic antenna, or 2.4 Ghz small antenna? Black

It is a real servo.
But it has no standard JST connector.

Pretty sure any servo will work so long as it fits in the space - before the el-mod board came out I was driving the half tracks steering straight off a receiver. All I had to do was splice the 3 wires into a standard 3 pin Futaba connector?

If you take the suspect servo to your local RC shop that should be able to find a replacement that will fit and do the job. Try to find one with metal gears, good torque and not too fast.

If the mounting posts don't align you can stick it to a flat platform using double sided servo tape (also known as car registration number plate tape) or a good silicon glue
