The hatch is made functional. Notice the layered plasticard structure on how it was made. The hatch was then shaped with a nail file.
I am still wondering if i will give it servo rotation. As it was manually rotated by the commander, i am guessing it must be real slow.
The driver's hatch is a standard M113 driver's hatch with a locking mechanism at the rear. The most complex aspect to recreate are the hinges.
This working locking mechanism was easily made with 2mm brass strips and M0.8 bolt and nut.
It locks well.
The interior of the hatch was given its periscope and locking latch seen in reference. It will be given a driver's figure.
This is the observer's hatch.
