Scratch build SDKFZ 251 / 23 Ausf D Recce vehicle in 1:11 s

Hi,
Thx for your continued interest.
The screws that can be seen in the photo are just a temporary fastening whilst constructing the body, the nose sub frame will be permanantly glued to the rear chassis when i am fully convinced everything is in order.
A few more pics of the rear and mud guards before adding the angled rear door frame and doors.
The rear section was quite difficult to do due to all the different angles that all happen on this one piece but i managed to sort it out.
Still need to fabricate the lower valance which goes under the rear section between the tracks, again its all angles, and to add the rear doors and hinges etc, but think its now starting to look like the unmistakable shape of a 251 Ausf D

More.
Making all the front nose panels and mocking them up for fit with the body on the chassis...angles everywhere to think about, just temp held in place to test rough fit. Still needs a lot of trimming where the front mudguards will be fitted and sculpting to where it meets the lower front section at the nose so its all in line.

Some next-level design and fabrication as always, Sub. The 251's made of all sorts of weird angles, but you've got the shape done perfectly. What did you have in mind when it comes to electronics to drive the thing?

Hi Mr Raminator,
Thx for your interest and kind comment,
It is always appreciated when someone recognises the difficulty of creating a scratch build, especially when it is from nothing more than an idea in the head and spare bits and plastic and can i do it, you always have to think 4 steps ahead of the section you are working on, will it fit here, what knock on effects will it have there and on the next section etc, etc.
It took a lot of working out and drawing my own plans to get the proportions right, which i am rather pleased with the result
With regards to the electronics it will be using a diy set up using an Arduino Mega 2560 that i will program with the excellent Open Panzer Software by the ever helpful and knowledgeable Mr Luke Z. ( cannot rate this board or gentleman high enough in my opinion ), with it using a couple of 10 amp speedos.
A few more pics of the difficult nose section mated in together with the now fabricated mudguards and " dustbin " exhaust.
The entire body lifts off in one piece for access.
Regards

I don’t know why you do it to yourself !! But I’m glad you do
So we’ll executed that it’s made seem easy, though it’s really not .
Extrapolation of the angles onto plastic that fit bang on is an art in itself which requires higher levels of patience and accuracy, that mods to a RTR model usually don’t require.
I commend you Sir on your dedication and skill.
