:D You might take off 20% in regard to a German purchase, Adam, but you can add it on again when it comes here (VAT is also charged not only on the retailer's price, but also post and packaging  ). Then you can add Duty to that, also based on the price paid, but on post and packaging as well, and sometimes there are unexpected 'handling fees'. Duty can be hefty on goods over £135.
Only time will tell...

Most recent Tamiya releases have commanded prices in excess of £1,000 not only in the UK, but abroad too. I suspect it'll be like that with the Centurion. A cursory scan of sources here indicates prices in excess of £1k... if you can get it from Felix (total outlay after, VAT, Duty, Post, etc.) for under £800 it will be a minor miracle. Felix charged me £30 to post a tiny 3gram part. :/
Do Tamiya give out a worldwide RRP?

8O :) It looks very, very tempting  Where did you find these snaps, Adam? Were they on the Tamiyablog? If you could PM me what Axel's will expect you to pay, I'd be grateful. Notwithstanding my last purchase from Felix, there's a good chance he'll still undercut UK sources- and I might well consider a pre-order myself. :)

So they chose to make fabric mantlet cover out of molded rigid plastic? I feel like 15 years ago tamiya would’ve done it right.
