It was my birthday a few weeks back and some money which was given to me was proudly spent on my first 'bought' G Scale steam locomotives. ok they are electric, but they look and sound like a steam loco.
They are not hugely expensive, but should look great once we have the railway laid

So my good lady is going to clean one up and give it a nice paint job, the 2nd, i am not sure, i might sell it or keep it, time will tell.
Apparently 1/22.5 scale, so will look a bit small with 1/16 stuff, but if you get the right perspective view it may look ok haha
Might have a go at maybe scaling one up to 1/16 some day in the next decade lol

might be worth looking to see if you could make a WW1 2ft gauge Baldwin trench loco out of it

A wee update, decided to make one of the Krupp locos into a Camouflage loco, so started masking up and priming up

Next job is to wait and get the Dunkelgelb base colour on, then can get on with camo and detailing and weathering
The other loco will stay black and red as it is already and get a wee weathering.

This year need to lay the track down so i have a permanent playground for it

Next time will not try pain outdoors in the dark and with 3°C but for what this is going to be used for, the paint will be ok.

Ok so my airbrushing skills are alot to be desired, so then had to get the brush out and paint some by hand to clean it up, it sort of gives it a good effect, but i really should do more airbrushing practice and maybe buy some proper paints rather than trying to mix my own hahaha

Anyway, i still have washes and weathering to do and the batteries are charged ready to play. The kids love it

So i agree, this may be hard to see a difference, i chose to go along the route of a light wash and weathering on this loco

Have also applied paint to the LED bulbs on the train to soften down their colour
I have also test run the train and it looks and sounds great. Need to get the track laid down outside in the garden where we can enjoy it. Then we can get photos and video of it running

Good looking engines and a great paint job like it a lot.
