Hello
I would be grateful for any help,I would like to paint my late war Tiger 1 in winter camo, but I dont want a brilliant white, is there an off white I can use?

To achieve this sort of effect (the Germans and Brits used whitewash), you need a thin wash in white, maybe with hints of grey added, whilst allowing hints of the base colour to show through.
As with most colours, the white should be modulated in various shades. Bear in mind, that the majority of Tiger 1's produced didn't have Dunkelgrau as the base colour, according to boffin, David Byrden... and thus, you could also have Dunkel Gelb showing through the whitewash, as an alternate base colour.

Well, not real white wash but that's the effect you want. I use Tamiya's flat white rattle can, sprayed from slightly longer range than usual and very lightly so that the original camo can still just be seen. The real whitewash was often applied by a broom so l have also used a stiff bristle brush with well thinned flat white. Try these methods out first on something unimportant!

Using an Airbrush or a rattle can lightly spray an Acrylic matt white overall then' again using an airbrush or a rattle can spray a matt dark grey in random patches over the matt white. You are not trying to repaint the Tank, merely giving it a winter coat.
