RC Tank Warfare community hobby forum

So far i have "frankensteined" a few static 1/6 vehicles to r/c using already existing vehicles as a base.. a dml sherman using a 21st century toys stuart tank components and a command car using the components from a cheap walmart buggy.
If i wanted to put together a base r/c platform for a 1/6 tank (board, control, electronics, etc.) From scratch, What would you recommend??

Most important thing is gearbox. With relatively light plastic 1/6 tanks standard gearboxes used in 1/16 should be enough. In case of electronics I would recomend boards which can sustain 3S (11V) battery like Elmod, Beier etc.
