IS THERE A WAY TO SHUT THE TANK DOWN AND STILL BE ABLE TO ROTATE TURRET AND FIRE THE GUN?ITS JUST A QUESTION, REAL TANKS CAN DO IT I THINK.

yup ww2 tanks could manually do it,

but unfortunatly Heng Long and Tamiya cant do it, However El-mod electronics can.

Its a good one though. As Matt says, Tamiya's can't do it, but Elmod's can. Tigers used a manual crank, but I think T34's had electric motors (thats just a hunch), but I am pretty certain that they could turn the turret with the engine off. The Tiger was the only tank that could turn on the spot without moving forward though.

I think modern tanks use electric motors when stationary, and hydraulics when the engine is running.

The problem with HL is that the kill button shuts down the main board, so that the board no longer processes the signals received on any channel, except the start button...but the system is still live until you switch the tank off manually. You would need to isolate the motor circuits rather than the whole board.

If someone was clever enough they could emulate what you are looking for by having a servo controlling the volume knob, so that when the kill button was hit it wound the volume down, and when you started the tank it wound it back up again...but I am not volunteering for the job! I am guessing that some sort of capacitor would be needed that kicked in to power the servo when the power to main board was lost.  Hmmmm... a 6v solenoid operated switch...a capacitor...and a servo....hmmm.....
