I've chopped 3D printed parts before and yes it can cause issues so I'm aware of that. I figured if I get into a structural issue I can always fill the areas around and in the mod with another material like CA, Milliput, or plastic wood filler to restore the integrity. I realize it's tough to design something that makes everyone happy (actually impossible). I will probably use the pivots in the Micky Mouse turret and not use them in the other only because I've already done so much work on the other turret to get the elevation moving correctly.
