just got a tammy re-coil from septon cheers mate ;) ;D ;D ;D

and the barrel tube mech was a little sloppy and wobbly so had a play also liked pauls mod of the elastic band return so i tried to copy it and improve on it a little ;)

heres what i came up with

some (yep you guessed it  :D :D :D) brass rod as sliders drilled out the slider mech to 4mm and inserted the tube the slider is now nice and tight with no play at all and moves well

the spring for the retuen adds a recoil snap and a gas return will look better when i pluck up the courage to follow the rest of pauls mod and grind of some teeth from the flywheel :o :o :o :o

Really nice work mate. Dont worry about grinding the teeth off. Its incredibly scary when you start, but just work slowly and its fine. I like the idea of the tubes, I wanted some way to stop the wobble of the barrel, but I though that came from the elevation mech mostly on my Tiger.
Cheers,
Rik

Here you go mate. The ABS plastic its made of is tough, and takes quite a while to work it down. I recommend jewllers files if you have them, and go really slow, as these things are a pain to replace, just as my KT, lol. ;)

Thats the Tiger one mate, if you want to see how it looks, there's a video in my build thread. It looks so much more realistic, and for a darn sight less than Wecohe's kit! lol
Cheers,
Rik

I have to thanks Tailend Charlie for showing me this mod, the guy has some genious ideas for his tanks!  ;) Its alway stupidly scary cutting into Tamiya kits and parts, especially with the amount spent on them and upgrades! Its worth it though. The plastic in the flywheel is strong and should hold to the stresses involved for quite a while. At worst if it breaks it can always be replaced with the Wecohe kit.
Cheers,
Rik
