Hey guys is there a photo etch set out there for 1/16 Abrams? Starting a new build and I was hoping there was something out there for the turret basket floor.

Apart from a bit of detailing for the Browning .50 cal mg Abers catalogue has nothing for the Abrams and with the Polish postal embargo coupled with Abers decision to no longer sell their products through dealers getting new issue products will be almost impossible,
Any Aber PE that you see on Dave or Doms site will probably be the last unless Aber changes its mind,
I have not looked at "Voyager's" site but 1/16 PE was never a large part of their range so I don't expect much in the way of Abrams PE on the site.

I find etching too fragile for RC tanks, even for static. Touch them while manipulating the tank and they either deform or break loose. If you want to dress up an Abrams, i think you are better off with DKLM 3D add on; https://www.dklmrc.com/116_M1A2_Abram_S ... 94597.aspx

The beacon is primed in grey color so it should be included. When i ordered mine, i also picked up the CITV Rangefinder,, link below, kind of cool. Did not get them yet.

The mine plow is also interesting but it would make a very long vehicle.

Photo-Etch is as weak or as strong as the user cares to make of it,
Far too many people rely on "Superglue" to bond the items together that is almost always a mistake for a good long term bond.
Where appropriate I use nuts washers and bolts+Loctite 243 threadlock but my favoured method is a Butane Torch (Dremel Make a decent Torch)and Fryolite Liquid Solder.
Clean the P-E with Isopropanol (Acrylic Thinners) then using a small paint brush I paint the Liquid Solder along the join then wipe the flame of the Butane Torch along the join, It looks good and it will last.
As with all things practice makes perfect.

I just used some bug screen for a window from a local hardware store.
