Refreshing tableaux of tank crew and tank images. Personally, I've not seen those figures before- especially the one smoking a cigarette. They're extremely well painted and detailed. If that's breaking gently back into the hobby, I'd like to see what breaking
wildly back into the hobby would generate

Just concentrating on painting & weathering for now, I'm sure scratch building will eventually raise its tedious head in due course

. I bought the figures from Forgebeartanks.com.

General VonRundstedt2.0: I have found SOL Model figures to be fine and fun to paint. The crisp casting seems to make it easier to catch the details cleanly.
I like your Torro Tiger! Is the base paint job as it came from Torro?

Yes, just applied a thin wash over it all to dull it down. I use to go for the heavily weathered look, but I'm steering towards a much more subtle look this time. The figures are of real quality, easy to assemble with very little cleaning up required. I used Citadel/warhammer water based paints. They're great for mixing different shades, and high/low lights.

Yes, very well painted figures

- something I have yet to get to grips with. My few feeble efforts created strangely mutant looking creatures with whirring eyes

wearing uniforms that suggested a colour blind drunken tailor with a bizarre sense of humour.

Nice looking Tiger and crew Vonrunstedt . I'm about to paint some crew for the first time and I would be well happy if they turned out anything like yours.
