hi guys. not sure if you heard this guy on saturday, but he was talking to us about the possibility of selling us these gearboxes for use in the tanks. said they were from motorised wheel chairs

anyway, he has sent pics and i am posting them for you to have a look at. i have asked him to send me a pair on approval as it were, so maybe we can look at them at swindon. however, if you want to let me know what you think in the meantime that would be great

cheers dave

theoretically possible with a lot of chopping and drilling etc but what price?
would it be worth it?

Well worth it just for the metal gears there like rocking horse S**t to find would like to know the pitch and the tooth count, could make up things like 3:1 reduction that bolts to standard gearboxes.Very interested keep me updated if there a £1 each put me down for £10 worth.

Does this guy make them or know where to get them? If he makes them and he could turn out HL compatible boxes with:
The sideplates drilled for 380 motors
Pre drilled mounting baseplate
The offset motor mounting for left/right fitting
Low profile to fit all HL tanks
then I think he would do a roaring trade. They look as solid as a rock.

nope sorry he said that he knew somebody who split up a load of wheelchairs for bits, and so he bought 200 gearboxes from the guy hoping he could re-sell them for something in the future, and here he is
cheers,
Matt

Hi Dave can you try a heng long gear to see if they mesh with the internal gears .If they do they can be used for making reduction gearboxes or even building your own.
