Hello All:

I am new to the whole rc tank hobby, but am finding it very exciting! I have read many posts on the forums and am really getting some good information. I thank you fellow collectors and hobbyists for your knowledge and contributions.

I collect German WW2 militaria and I love all aspects of the panzers. So, I am entering this new fray of the world of models and rc tanks to help feed my militaria and panzer addiction. I call Pennsylvania my home.

I just recently purchased a Tiger 1 mid from IMEX in Florida and am looking forward to receiving it and putting it through its maneuvers. I knew there were 1:32 and smaller models of tanks but in my ignorance I never knew that there were larger models that actually run, shoot, recoil, smoke, etc. It is very exciting indeed!

Thank you and hope to meet and talk with many of you!

Jonathan

Welcome, Johnathan! I don't know where you are located, but given that you ordered the Tiger I from Imex, I'd guess you are in North America. You made an excellent choice for a first RC tank, in fact, it's just an excellent choice. When you have questions, fire away! I am far, far from being one of the experts on here, any of whom can answer your questions and then some and then some and then some. But it you want to see a bleepload of Taigen and Torro tanks, check out viewtopic.php?f=33&t=30720.

Welcome Jonathan from Pennsylvania,

If you have bought the Taigen Tiger 1, mid version, all metal, with Airsoft and recoil, than we have the same tank. Mine's been great as I haven't been able to kill it yet. I have swapped the guts out though for better items. I too collect militaria, something we were just discussing over the weekend.

You'll like it here. Amazing talent here among its member's, they never fail to astonish me! Quite helpful too! :D

Enjoy,
Eric.

Jonathan Welcome to the Forum
You start with the advantage of having the Tank with the most upgrades available within the 1/16 R/C Armour world and it helps that almost everyone on the Forum has at some time owned a Tiger 1 from whichever of the many maker's.
We can offer help from a rich source of personal knowledge,
Just ask, we love questions
Enjoy this place, it can be a lot of fun and if you find a thread that catches your eye then join in, we want to hear from you.

Thank you very much for your kind comments and I am sure I am showing my ignorance of the hobby here, but how would I be able to upgrade the tank? Are there interchangeable parts with different features that can be swapped in and out? If you could explain and/or direct me to some threads I would appreciate it immensely.

Hi Eric, thanks for your post. I am intrigued by your posting that you swapped the guys out for better items. What items? I am confused as to how that would be done. Does one need to be me mechanically handy?

Thanks,
Jonathan
