Good afternoon, Herman and Estniche. Along with a 'Coming Soon' Porsche King Tiger rebuild, this Jagdtiger will be one of the biggest pieces of German Armor that I work on. It has been and is great fun! Certainly eats up the real estate. ;o) This afternoon sees me working on the rear deck Anti Aircraft MG mount. I have a nice MG 42 to attach to it but first comes the mount.

I have been following your Taigen Jagdtiger detailing from its outset at Christmastime. That's all GRRREAT! by me. The barrel travel lock and the moveable MG42 mount are such fine re-builds you have made.
I had earlier read your comment that you "love [your] Tanks with that 'Fresh from the Depot' look!" This Jagdtiger is turning out to be a primo example of high-detail and the looks of one "picked up" by its crew right at the factory door. And, yes, I am waiting to meet the crew.

Herr Doctor!
Thank you for checking out the progress. Today, I had time to primer the casemate. I am reasonably pleased with the results ( i.e. no detail was lost )

This afternoon when the workday was done, I raced an oncoming Thunderstorm and got the Panzer Grau on the Casemate. Major paint werk is done. Now a World of ' Detailing and Weathering' will follow. ( and a crew figure, Herr Dokter )

How about some Zimmerit?!
I wouldn't blame you if you didn't as it looks great as it is.
For some reason I really like the King Tiger with Zimmerit so made a rod for my own back!

The real thing in Bovington. The size of it in real life is amazing.Image

NAB!
I thought about it, ( zimmerit ) but only the Porsche suspension models like the Survivor at Bovington had it. I do have a Porsche KT which will be getting the Zimm treatment when it comes up on the list. These Tank Killers are real Beasts for sure.

Fred!
Thank you for checking out the build! I have Devey's excellent books on the Jagdtiger to help me with all of the details on these gigantic machines. As far as authenticity, well, I am making one specific change to my Jagdtiger. I want a black barrel on it. ;o)
regards and thanks again, Fred!

Good Afternoon all!
Having spent some little time online looking for methods to produce the black iron look, I have returned to where I should have started. To any of you who have done the black iron barrel, best or most liked methods that you can recommend for me to try, please?
regards,
Painless
