In my garage sitting quietly is a spent 105 mm piece of brass from the Falkland Island conflict. I may one day get to polish it, if I don’t I think the wife will dispose of it, funny the junk we keep.

I kept my wife around for years, but finally got rid of her. :)

Yeah, I still have my wife. . . .

As for shell casings, one man's junk can be another man's (or boy's) treasure

Met my wife during an undercover job in Belfast she used to take me out shopping, of course she spent my money although she earned more than I did. It will be 48 years next April lol, she is planning our 50 away in New York. She loves New York while I love Rome.

That's the lads bedroom/personal space, and they are his shells now.

Must add it’s not the only piece I have, various calibers obtained from the ranges and live fire exercises. Picked up some spotting rounds from the anti tank teams, then realised they had explosive heads so gave them back again.

o- Well, just take her to 'Little Italy' (Piccola Italia)- a well-known district of New York. How's that for a compromise? :D No trevi Fountain, but some good grub
I went to New York, back in 1994- and Loved it. There was no plague there then, though... :problem:

At my age it would be quite a pleasant surprise were I to have and live rounds in the bedroom.
