Front hull track sections

I was wondering if anyone knew how the front section of track on the lower hull of a real Tiger was held on?

Would the bar be the only thing, and the track was still loose behind it? Just held in by its own weight. Or would the track be fixed to the hull and the bar was just extra support?

Also, does anyone know where I could get some scale headlight reflectors from? I've been trying to find model railroad ones, but cant seem to find many spare parts sites.

Cheers,
Rik

Don't know about the track support,it's like the foot rail only found on 131.And as far as the light reflectors I will ask at the local shop as they are 30yrs in bussiness and have several rows of trains and parts.Sax

Cheers Woz! I didn't know whether they were just used as extra armour, or were kept to replace track links.

Blake, I know the headlights are 8mm in diameter if that helps. Cheers for looking, even the train scales confuse me, lol.

Cheers,
Rik

The bracket that holds the spare tracks are welded in place the tracks are loose and act as improvised armour as well as spare tracks, of interest is the spare tracks on the front are the late type and made of resinĀ

Thanks for the info! Im wondering whether to glue the track to the front of the tank. I think if left in loose it would jump out when being run. I just wondered if they were held in under there own weight.

Rik

I have loose metal track on the front, only held on by the bar and it's never fell out through normal use. It looks better as well, as it looks a lot better than the hard, solid plastic spare tracks HL supply. I've also done the same thing on my Pz111 and that looks a lot better as well.

I've got 12 impact late track links to match the track I have as well as extra links for the turret. Those ones will have to be glued in a think, or they'll just fall off.
The bar a have is too flexible to just hold the track on its own. I may run a strip of brass along the back to stiffen it.

Rik
