Wow, bought this for the PC. The graphics are amazing, the gameplay is great, some of the intro vids are a bit gruesome. But all in all it's really good.
Has anybody out there had a go with this.
Nick.

I've played this game quite extensively. I work in a games shop, so I play a lot of games, mostly WWII ones though. The singleplayer is great on CoD, but the multi-player gets quite tedious after a while. A lot of the online players are not very nice, lol.
If your after a good WWII game get Company of Heroes, and its expansions Opposing Fronts & Tales of Valour. Its a strategy game, but its fantastic! The Tales of Valor expansion even has a Villers-Bocage level where you play as a single Tiger (your character in that mission isnt called Whittman though, they dont use any real names).
I can suggest a few more if your interested.
Cheers,
Rik

Hey Guys Im always interested in WWII games. But I prefer...I think the terminology goes...1st person games. Is that correct ?
I also fly about a bit in Microsoft FSX. Some of the animations on that are great. For instance, the ferry spinning around and sailing off in Portsmouth harbour.

That is right. The Call of Duty games are probably the best 1st person WWII games. Im more of a strategy gamer myself.
I used to be quite an avid flightsimmer. I mostly flew airliners on trans-atlantic routes. Learning all the controls and procedure was quite fun, it was just the hours of cruising that wasn't, lol.
The Brothers In Arms games are not bad for 1st person, there a bit old now, but still fun. Unfortunately, the gamer communities seem to have becomed 'bored' with WWII, they dont want anymore. I do find this a bit annoying being that it is the greatest conflict in human history, and one of my major interests. There is a game called The Saboteur, where you play as a resistance fighter in Nazi-occupied Paris. It looks very good. I think its out near Christmas. Im a big collector of WWII games. Its interesting to try and recreate situations from the war, and see how your decisions would change things.
Cheers,
Rik

I've got a few C.O.D games and some M.O.H. games too and I really like these 1st person games.
From a strategy point of view my favourite ever was Dune 2, I really thought the gameplay was incredible.
I fly flight sims because at the moment I can't afford to fly the real thing. When I was a kid at 20 years old and after many years of RC flying I decided to learn to fly. 12 months later I had a pilots license and bought a share in a Jodel at my local airfield.

I am an avid T34 vs Tiger player, its great in multiplayer mode on Gameranger. Its not just point and shoot, the tanks have a selection of ammo, and shell deflection is built in. Blowing tracks off, damage and engine overheating etc are all part of the fun. Trying to find the enemy in a forest when others are trying to track me from 360 degrees is nerve wracking at times. Hit a tree and it moves, and someone on the far side of the valley will spot it and pound the area even though they can't see me. Its not easy operating the throttle and gearbox in a forest while tracking and being tracked!
A group of French guys play on Teamspeak and have modified the game to make it even more realistic, plus their update MMP5 is available for free download.
Due to the original company going bust a team of developers have got together and are using the Armed Assault engine to write a better game. The graphics engine in AA is stunning.
These guys are taking TvT to a new level, the original was more of a tank simulator than anything else, and the new one will build on that. Being on a battlefield up against 1-6 players in T34's or Tigers requires a lot of cunning and, strategy. It is very realistic as it is, so I can't wait for the new version. That one will have loads of different armour to battle in.

I will download this and see what its like.

Rob,
Could you give me a bit more info on TvT. Is it still available in the shops.
A few years back I used to play Armoured fist ( a modern tank sim ) and really enjoyed that. But as per, operating systems move on and compatibility issues cock things up.

I've played a bit of TvT, un fortunately the company that made it, Lighthouse Interactive, has gone bust, so there wont be any more support for it. Its a shame, its a good game, but terribly short. The lack of a tutorial had me stumped at first though. It was a lot of trial and error, and believe me, its easy to stall a Tiger, lol.

Rik
