Now I assume that Mr Gunner has gone straight to the gutter at the title!!

but what do you guys pick for the most appropriate colour for leather straps that go around resin tarps ?
I have a few of the classy hobby ones & cant seem to get a right look of the what I assume are leather by the looks of them.
Cheers

Well it depends of type of leather

I use most the times Vallejo Leather Brown, Red Leader, Flat Brown or some random brown mix

maybe i don't achieve great results, but i use tamiya flesh XF15 as a base, and then i use oils, several, in layers, all of them on the brown/ocher scope

Agree. My daughter's leather handbag straps are gloss red but my tarp wraps are a rather weather worn dull brown. They look right to me anyway.

Whatever colour I paint leather, to finish off, I usually give it a coat of Vallejo Smoke, thinned down. It gives it a slight sheen

Good morning, Herman,
I use Model Masters 'Leather Brown' from a bottle. Works well and is an enamel paint so it flows smoothly from a tiny brush. On the last Panzer IV build, I used real leather miniature strapping from (you guessed it), the 'Doll House' section of the Hobby Shop. I weathered it with Tamiya Weathering Master kit powder and it turned out well.
Regards,
Painless

Great range of advice folks and I really appreciate it.
Will get out today & look for a suitable product.
I know that my nearest supplier is all out of TAMIYA paint, including a leather linoleum that I didn’t know existed.
Thanks again for the tips

Mr. Bix,
Now that's funny!

I tried to come up with a pithy retort, but I'm at a loss!
Cheers,
Eric.

Don't forget the Warhammer range of paints. Leather was popular and well executed amongst the Lord of the Rings attire.
