Takom Renault FT

Together with my dad we decided to motorize Takom's Renault FT. Tamiya Twin Gearbox is used. Even 58:1 gear ratio is too fast for slow moving tank so my dad decided to make additonal gears outside the hull, which is similar to real FT.

Interesting. Put mine aside as I work on the Hetzer so will be following your build.

Great start Kaczor, I like the addition of the extra gears, I too have been working on rc'ing one of these on and off for about the last 18 months :/ I have also used the tamiya twin gearbox unit but I tried configuring the gears in a different order, it made a slight difference in reducing the speed but it could still be slower :S I look forward to your development with this

Cheers, Lee.

Bigger gear was glued to the sprocket. The gears are exposed so in the future I have to avoid mud ;)

Test of electronics (35rctank.com). In the future probably I will use Dasmikro board as it's very small and have great sound.

I saw one of these restored tanks on television last night. The turret was rotated by muscle power! I did not know that. The television host grabbed a leather strap that was hanging inside and he pushed with his feet to turn. It took about 5 seconds to rotate 180 degrees.

Nice little tank , you should ask someone you know with a 3d printer to print a pair of covers for the exposed gears.
