Aber are selling a Tiger 1 AUSf E, "Rommelkiste" Turret Storage Bin, Tunisia, Dept 501.
One of the pictures illustrating the product on the www.rctank.de site shows the turret box installed and beside it is a Pistol Port (Matching the pistol port on the other side of the turret quite correctly as it is an early Tunisian Tiger 1) BUT it is shown to be mounted on the Escape Hatch,
Is there any evidence that this ever happened ?
It has always been my understanding that the Pistol Port was removed and replaced by the Escape Hatch but Abers research has always been a subject of envy by me for many years so is there any evidence that when the escape hatch was fitted that the pistol port was on some early Tigers fitted over it ?
Is Aber right or is this a c*ck up ?
I have spent far too much time filling and smoothing Tiger 1 Turrets trying to erase signs of the escape hatch to get an accurate Tunisian Tiger 1 early turret with the two pistol ports sans escape hatch and if I could have saved myself the bother there will be *Language* :lolno:
So if there is a rivet counter out there with knowledge of this modification let me know please.

Click on the bottom picture on www.rctank.de site and you will get three views of the product on the side panel.
The bottom picture is my point of interest.

Sorry Shaun, but you need to clean your glasses and take a closer look.
At least you'll now know you're not going out of your mind, nor is Aber being dumb.

As everyone knows I suffer from Cataracts,
For those who don't know the NHS operates on one eye and then operates on the other eye 4/6 months later, unfortunately my second operation has been cancelled four times to date because all elective surgery has been cancelled by the local hospital trust due to the Covid 19 virus, (The most common Routine operation carried our by the NHS is Cataract Surgery so the queue is getting ever longer and in the meantime my un-operated upon eye is deteriorating so I am semi blind in one eye and have very good vision in the other which puts a strain on the good eye and makes it tired as all gettup) And that is my excuse as to why I missed the blank that fills the escape hatch hole and mistook it for the real thing.
I am grateful for the headsup Mick at least Aber make modifying the turret by providing a blank to fill the escape hatch void much easier than playing silly bu*gers like I have had to do over the years.

EDIT--- While I am going on about Cataract Surgery anyone worried about having it done by the NHS under local anaesthetic which takes about 20 minutes you can opt for the operation to be carried out under full anaesthetic  although instead of being home an hour after the operation you are likely to lose the whole day

You're welcome Shaun

And although you'd already told me about your eyes, it isn't my place to publicly share what you told me in private, therefore, cleaning your glasses or you should go to a well known high street opticians were my preferred options ;)
