Re: Scratch build US Army "Scout" Armoured recon vehicle XM800 T
Hi,
Thank you Tiger6 and BarryC for your continued interest.
More work completed on the front, the drivers hatch pivot point added plus the open hatch locking stay, a pair of front hull lifting hooks, the external fire supressent handle and the track joining clamps mounting plus tie down handles, and a working spare track links holder.
Regards.

Thx Mr Tankme.
A short video of me testing the wiring for the DIY Arduino mega control board, with remote on / off switch and voltage monitor and reducer, this little thing gives me 5.5v from the main drive battery to power the servos, speedos etc, it monitors the battery voltage plus amps and power used in real time and is variable for voltage to 30v and 5 amps output.
Further ramblings, made some gearbox axle support bearings from some PTFE bar I have, being PTFE it has excellent wear properties, a very low coefficient of friction and virtually impervious to any chemicals and sunlight.
They really tighten up and support the shafts and stop all movement , 23mm dia by 6mm thick.

Moving around to the rear for a while.
Made the rear light guards, quite an interesting shape to fabricate.

Thx for your continued interest.
Managed to get some time to work on the XM, made the rear lights, they still need finishing off and detailing but the basic light is there, need to add the middle combat red lights they will be red Micro led's 1mm x 3mm and then the lower convoy lights, these will be Sub Micro warm white leds 1mm x 1mm, these just look like 2 wires, the led is so small.
Then need to add the bottom mounting lug and bolt.
Regards.

Those rear light assemblies are impressive!

Hi,
Thx Mr Ecam, they were a right pair of blighters to do,
This is the third attempt, the large red lights are 5mm red led's, with a lense of red acrylic sheet over the top to give the flat surface then covered with gloss acrylic resin to get the plastic shine of the lenses, now just have to do it again for the smaller slotted lights....oh joy...
Thx for looking.

Thx Chaps for your interest and encouragement.
Moved over to the front light assemblies for a while each side has a white and infrared light plus 2 minor lights top and bottom between the main lights.
The top one is another assembly bolted on the large one that sticks out and has some interesting curves and flanges to it.
Here is where i am, still need to add a little bit of curvature to the lower part of the top assembly
( easier to do when its all held in place, my fingers cannot hold it )
Thx for looking.
