Heng Long Sherman Question

Hi
I recently purchased a Heng Long 1:16 RC Sherman Tank, Howitzer. I was under the impression that the gun on the mantlet, flashed as well as the bow gun, but it doesn’t. There is not a barrel, just a hole. The bow gun is fine. Can anyone tell me if it should, or as often happens, they change the spec!
Any answers welcome
Thanks
W

The standard HL tanks do not have barrel recoil or flash but some suppliers can pre-fit such, at a price. If the advertisement claimed it had a barrel flash, then complain. If the electronics are ver 6.0 or later then it will emitt an infrared flash for lR battling but you won't see it.

Maybe that’s what I thought I saw! The flash from the led may have been for the battle system.
Still I guess I can fit one!
Thanks

Hi W, do you mean the actual barrel flash or are you referring to the mantlet hole for the mg? If it's the latter the heng long Sherman only comes with one flashing mg which is at the front of the hull

Yes I did mean the mantlet hole, ok but I guess it could be fitted. I moved the led on my Stug, to the mantlet. I was told by another member that you can usually double up the led’s in parallel without issue.
Thanks for your reply

For what it's worth, my Panzer III has both a hull mg and one in the mantlet, connected in parallel and they both work fine. It is powered by a Clark board, but that should not make any difference.

What make is your Panzer 3, was seriously thing about a Pz 3 or 4 by Heng Long. Any thoughts, can’t and don’t want to go for another Tamiya. There great, but to me, fiddly, brittle and too much.
Just finished my Tami Pershing, I am very pleased, except for constant rotation probs, as on my post, but the detail is superb, trouble is it seems to me that every time I look at it, something falls off!
Is it me? As they say.

The Heng Long BB tanks usually have a red warning led in a mantlet hole, it usually comes on when you start the pellet firing sequence, as a warning for anyone standing in the way
