Another Heng Long StuG III build
Hi guys.
Been a while, had a lot things on my mind, bought a new home, rebuild it completely, so the modelling had to step down.
The last few months I worked this plastic version StuG so now and then. I already have a Taigen metal version.
This should become a cheap build.
The adventage of a plastic version compared to a metal one is, you do not have to lay down a lot of cash at once to get your Panzer.
This cheap StuG I bought in 2018 for €139.00, and the plan was to get some upgrade parts so now and than, when I could afford it.
Been in the basement till this year's Spring.

Re: Another Heng Long StuG III build
In the meanwhile, I did some improvements.
Made a stowage rack on the motordeck, added a Saukopf mantlet, made skirt supports out of brass, skirts out of 1mm aluminum, opened up the loaders hatch, added a moveable, metal MG shield.
Well, see it yourself the way it looks at the moment......
Also added the concrete field mods up front as you could see.
The grills alongside the motordeck I made out of metal too

Re: Another Heng Long StuG III build
This is how far I got till now.
Awaiting for some 1.4mm screws to come in, so I can secure the supports for the Schürzen onto the fenders. Now they are held in place by some tape.
Another gadget I ordered, 2 openable metal hatches up front the StuG.
The tranny inspection covers.
Actually,my wife ordered them for me.....
To be continued.
CU soon guys.
Cheers, Rob.

Re: Another Heng Long StuG III build
I absolutely love those! What year and unit are you going for?
Re: Another Heng Long StuG III build
Not sure yet.
Maybe some Hungarian unit from
Unternehmen Frühlingserwachen 1945 (Operation Spring Awakening 1945).
They had those big 3 digit numbers on their Schürzen.

That image is from some kind of online game, War Thunder Live ?
Anyway, never saw these big numbers in 1/16 modelling....?
And it is something different than the usual German units, right?
