Bad Manners.

I have never gone looking to be resented by members of this Forum but unlike too many members I am not prepared to sit on my hands as people come to our Forum and like a passer by help themselves to the apples in my garden without so much as a by your leave.
If somebody comes on the Forum and has not gone through the terribly difficult and time consuming and mind blowingly difficult and onerous task of properly introducing themselves to the Forum NOT It should be incumbent upon every member that until the proper introductory process has been gone through NO help should be volunteered to solve these freeloaders problems.Instead they should be politely but firmly steered into doing the right thing and follow the clearly defined introductory process.
This is not a one stop shop where people can stop by ask the question and go off to tell their mates about that soft touch called "RC Tank Warfare".It has taken everyone here a lot of time, research and money to know the answers to the questions we are being asked,
It is natural to want to help others that is what drives this place but not at any price.
It is just good manners to say hi before eating your hosts apples
Every time you answer a persons question who has not introduced themselves you are actively encouraging more of the same.
If I have ruffled a few feathers then so be it I shall not be saying sorry anytime soon.

Well all i wanted to do was point a person to something that might assist them, who politely asked a question....well excuse me for wanting to be a decent human being.
Perhapse this forum is not for me also!!!

Hi Sub,
Please don’t misinterpret what was posted above, I believe it was born from frustration.
With any relationship, you always introduce yourself first & build on that relationship before trying to benefit from it.
This forum gets far too many people popping up & people asking for things in their first post, just like in this thread, then they disappear.
Frustrating as it is, with it being a free forum, we have no way around it.
Cheers
Wayne

Well, this wasn't the actual first post, the first post was in wanted.
Whichever way you look at it, I personally find that first post very rude. When items are readily available on the WWW and eBay with a simple Google search. It does make one wonder if someone joins hoping to get a freebie or knock down price at forum members mates rates.
I especially have never joined a forum wanting help or advice and gone straight in without giving those forums something first (usually car repair forums). Because I was brought up with manners.

Everyone registering to join the Forum is PMd with instructions on how to do so,
It directs people to the "Introduction page" to INTRODUCE THEMSELVES
If someone chooses to ignore the basic good manners and RULE of introducing themselves to the rest of the Forum but instead takes us for idiots as they freeload their way in and out of a Forum they will almost certainly never come back to then it should come as no surprise that some of us put forward their PERSONAL opinion about what they perceive is a flagrant abuse of this Forums membership.
Other members will have their opinions of this matter and I look forward to reading them BUT rest assured I am unlikely to rollover in a hissyfit because someone threatens to take their custom elsewhere.
My comment was not aimed explicitly at you SUB, it is aimed at anyone who thinks they are doing the right thing encouraging FREELOADERS which is fine if you are the only person affected by this foolishness BUT the whole Forum finds itself tied up with helping someone who could care less about the Forum and could most times if they had the wit discover the answer using Google, Bing or Yahoo Or goodness forfend scour "Tips & Tricks".
If a personal opinion upsets you to the point of wishing to leave it suggests to me that you should look closer at why the opinion was made and what your alternative answer to a perceived abuse of the Forum is.
The floor is yours.

I believe that was a good healthy discussion with some valid points

Have to agree, get involved and then ask questions along the way, not ' hi i am new and i have a problem'
