JS-2 turret mounted machine gun

I've found them before but my searches are coming up blank! Can anyone help find me a turret mounted machine gun for my IS-2's commander? I'm guessing it will be white metal but any material would do, preferably including it's mount. A UK source would be good given the post at the moment! Any help appreciated.

Shapeways do one, prepare for a lightened wallet though.

Good Morning,
There are simplified DShK MGs out there but if you want the best appearance plus the capability to elevate and rotate it once assembled, the Shapeways model is your best bet. Shapeways also has them available by era. WWII, Cold War, etc.
regards and have fun whichever version that you go with,

Found them okay, thanks, but thirty odd pounds!

One thing that puzzles me - in the photo you posted the crew wouldn't be able to open the hatch as the MG mounting plate covers the two hatch doors. Is it the right model for the IS-2?

Edit: on second look, it would just about open but the commander would have to be slim. Looks good either way.

That would be so cool to have it rotate and elevate!! 8)

Good afternoon!
It is indeed the right model for that style of hatch. The hatch shell itself is large in circumference but the hatch leaves are small. I considered it odd myself and researched it and yes, the interior curve of the MG mounting plate matches the exterior curve of the hatch plate. Here are a couple of pics of the hatch open and the MG mounted beside it. ( To be fair, I did eventually move the Commander to the Loaders hatch for long term display. His arms akimbo stance fits better there. He is a Tamiya figure so no moveable joints to grasp hatch edges, etc. ) A proper figure should fit.

You could be cheeky and get one from a ztz but it’s a bit naff.

I have one off a ZTZ, but the thing will take a fair bit of work to get it looking half as good as a Shapeways one.

Okay chaps, you've convinced me. Shapeways it is and, as Tom said, a lighter wallet! Elevation and rotation? We're talking micro servos below the turret skin and micro fine control rods. All doable so l'll bear it in mind.
