This will be first post on the repair of my TIGER-I,The picture show the tensioning springs and the poorly made control arms, they are 1/2 rod stock heated and shapped, they the go thru a hole unsuported and into a piece of angel.Their is nothing to retain the rods, only the wheel and tracks for alignment. The hull need a pillow block bearing to support the control arms, then the rail should be 1.5 x 1.5 angel with another pillow block bearing, also note the bearings will have set screws, this will serve to hold the shafts in place. Then a bolt on linkage rod assembly will attach to a spring mounted too the side of the hull that is simular to Rivetcounters Tiger-I posted in this section, this is where I got the idea for my control arms, the bottom picture is from Rivetcounters TIGER-I.More pictures to follow,Sax

Nice to see another Tiger build, did you manage to sort the sprocket problem?
I haven’t seen a GPZ Turbo that clean for a long time this takes me back a few years, does it still handle OK with the Avon’s

Yes,the Avon venom R-SERIES are great, the day I purchased this bike,June1984 it had Michelin radails,at the time they were the best,@140 I had a high speed wobble,I was mad.Went to Metzler me series no wobble,of coarse the local dealer could not warranty the tires because they were fine @ 55,the federal top highway speed, thankfully were back to 75.I had to store the bike for 12yrs,but it was stored inside and the right way,it is fully restored and runs perfect, well back to my other love.TIGER-I TANKS thanks for all the good links Mark,I guess you can see how the control arms can be improved on,The pillow block bearings are 4.50 each but they will provide stability and strength,as you well no nothing is stronger than it's weakest link,to me for the Tiger that link is the control arms. The good thing about my tank is it is steel,so I have a solid foundation to build on,the hard thing is the money I'm sure everyone understands that, well should be able to install the bearings next week, then to work on the control arms, all for now Blake

I have not posted any information on my 1/6 scale TIGER VI for one reason, the economy sucks. That being said I simply have no money for this project.I have disasembled the wheels, control arms, and all suspension parts,I've repaired the broken exhaust guards, and that's about all.I have the tanks sitting on a block on my work bench covered up with a tarp until spring, when I hope things turn around in the US.Saxondog
