It's new to me, anyway, so I'll try it out and let you guys know how it works. If anyone has already used this please speak up.

I have tried this and like most automotive primers by Rust-oleum, it goes on too thick, erasing small details and weld lines. I have tried using a spray paint handle and just the can and good old fashioned finger control but the results were the same. Good luck there, could have been the can I was using and not the whole line of primer. Following along.

I agree with painless, a good product but goes on too thick

That is a product I have yet to try,
I always use Simoniz Rattle Can Auto Red Oxide Primer,
More than Half the price of a Tamiya Red Oxide Rattle Can It will easily cover two hulls and there will be plenty left over,
The only thing I do is I change the Spray Head for one from a Tamiya Rattle Can, This gives a "Finer" Spray Jet.
Replacement Rattle Can Heads are readily available from E-Bay for penny's.

If it's that thick I can go back to the rusty metal primer (I really like that) and try this for 3D printed parts, to see if it smooths out the lines. I'll try it on the sprockets first and see how I like it.

The primer I like to use is Halfords auto primers which they do in grey, white and red, easy to use and you don't
lose any of the fine details.

Since you mentioned Halfords, have you tried their Camouflage paint range and their super matt varnish? All very matt!

So far as I can see they do the following colours - Black, Brown, Khaki and Green https://www.halfords.com/search?q=camouflage+paint

One forum suggests that the khaki is a good substitute for Dunkelgelb
