Good morning all
Need advice please,I have a Panther type G Torro,turret ,châssis m?tal,whose camo? I do not like,wishing to do it again,I would like somme advice hiw to di it ,in advance,Thank you for reponse,and help

I can recommend this book https://www.panzerwrecks.com/product/pa ... n-changes/ as an excellent reference for the various external changes as well as well researched colour schemes. Beware of many of the illustrations you'll find on the internet, many of these are utter rubbish.

It looks okay to me, Jofaur.
Why not just 'age' it a little, and then find unit decals- and markings- for a regiment that operated the Panther Ausf G. Whether the unit you choose ever used camo patterns such as the ones you have there, or not, isn't really a vital issue. The pattern you have approximates to tri-colour schemes in use by armoured units of the period: late 1944- May, 1945. Each unit opted for its own variation on the theme.
You can do the same.

^ And this nonsense is why I recommend that book - German tanks were factory painted after the summer of 1944, to reduce the logistics burden of having to supply paint to the front. Using that book as a guide, you can often tell the factory and approximate build date of a late war Panther simply by the paint scheme in the photo. Its certainly not a cheap book, but worth every penny.

Don't get me wrong, its your tank, you can paint it however you like. But as you asked for advice, here is mine - I've found its just as much effort to paint a tank 'right' as it is to do it 'wrong', one just takes a little more research up front

The Panther Ausf G was introduced in March, 1944. The Instruction to paint all examples at the factory in a standardised camouflage pattern only appeared in August, and it was in late October that
tanks began leaving the factories in a standard trim.
On that basis, all the Panthers that served in Normandy, and later campaigns (up until the directive kicked in) were- in all likelihood- painted at regimental depots, and to a region-appropriate pattern. In which case, what I said about the 'approximation' of a paint scheme (as presented on his model), is, in fact fairly reasonable. In any event, as you say, it's his model and he can choose to adorn it in a manner that he can live with happily.

Hi Jofaur Why not have a look at the Panther builds for painting tips or go onto Britmodeller forum and look at the armour section plenty of Panther builds to compare camo patterns. Britmodeller has a good painting tips/problems board.

Thanks for the info my question was more about how to strip existing paint because if a coat of primer and camo is applied? There are details that will disappear? OK for " Britmodeller " nice if had the link....

Follow Roy's advice and detail up and weather that tank as it is. Those years of paint schemes from Taigen\Torro are some of their best. Flats and the regular German War three color paint can be used to blend in added details.

Some nice Jagdpanther builds this month in the armour board for other camo schemes.

Thank you for the very appeated help :thumbup:I starded the stripping of the easiest parts ,but the rear part,it is won ,?on the photos the rendering is clearer than the reality??iron? Over ? Or try to modify existing??????this is my question
