Have a Tamiya spare aerial, can fit it on opposite side, So whats the equipment that stops it going where the normal aerial is ,could it be the armoured cylinder protecting the aerial base ?

The Panther command tank aerial setup with the armoured surround for the extra aerial.

The text for the picture tells us exactly that. This is a command Tiger and the l shaped lever was most likely moved to the left on that tank while it would be on the right side on regular Tigers.

Yes it does say it is a command Tiger 1 but it does not say how it drew that conclusion,
For that you have to be able to distinguish between the right hand side of the turret and the left,
Knowing that the aerial mount would usually be located beside the aerial stowage tube and Knowing which side of the Tank had the aerial stowage tube and which side did not as well as knowing which side of the turret would have 5 spare track links and which side would have 2 and knowing that side of the turret was the side upon which the cupola was also sited is a reasoned argument for calling the Tank a Command Tank,
Merely stating that it is a "Command Tank" with no evidence to support that statement is how false facts get a foothold.

Moving along the deck next up the starter handle for the bar.Found a picture on a Tiger 1 command tank 1/35 build

First attempt styrene joints are fragile.

2nd attempt with brass much better.

The aerial base is below the hull as the turret would foul the armoured cylinder cover if it was above the deck.

Sat onto the starter bar to check the connection .

Command aerial done , drilled hole for a tube, cast the aerial base from the Trumpeter panther and made the Star aerial.

Found a good pic of the tow hitch with the towing pin.Made the towing pin and fixed the tow hitch by rounding it off , as it was pear shaped.

The little triangle with the hole for the chain sets it off.

Just need to attach the chain to the hull.

Another fix required before the fiddly PE. The fan between the hatches. Should be dome shaped, more surgery .

Fan cover is dome and tall

Fan cover is wrong , going to mould a KT one.

Fan cover fixed , Blue Stuff to the rescue moulded a KT one.

Getting good at removing moulded in features, filled in for cover base

KT fan dome, needs a file down in places

About the right height now

Your Tiger is looking fantastic.
I was lazy and bought the proper fan cover from East Coast Armory. It fits directly onto the molded on section. Almost like the molded on flat cover was made to accept an aftermarket part.
