1:16 Merkava MK4 what sacrifice tank to use?
1:16 Merkava MK4 what sacrifice tank to use?
Hello Everyone
I have a question.
I am 3d printing a Merkava mk4(because it is not available, had to have it)
After 1/100 i did 1/50.... This one is 1/16....
And my intention is to make it rc, by using a sacrifice tank.
I was going to use the challenger, by now i see that this doesn't fit .by the photo next to each other.(Forum:SOL Merkava Mk III Early Type RC'ed)
If i can't make it rc, it's ok.....(not)
What tank do you think should fit?
I still need to print for about two weeks more until completion, so the is time.
Already thanks
Brgds Marc

Hello C
yes i have seen it, very nice.
i am afraid he is a bit more technical then me.
any tank would fit, i will just remove the top en place the Merkava on it.

Very pretty turret! Since you have the skills, wouldn't it be better to create your own chassis using existing suspension arms, wheels, sprockets and tracks. The result would certainly be more successful!
Re: 1:16 Merkava MK4 what sacrifice tank to use?
Thanks (not so hard)
yes, maybe take some more time for it.
or cut that challenger in half and make it a bit wider.
i don't understand the scales.
not sure, but in real life isn't a challenger bigger than a Merkava.
I'll keep printing, and come up with the final size.

That's progressing well
You're right about the challenger being bigger, but only in length, however, it's a little narrower, but by only 8 inches (20cm) which at 1/16th scale is half an inch (1.27cm).
The only thing, I couldn't tell you how accurate the Heng Long challenger is for width and length. But it would be the closest to your requirements.

Re: 1:16 Merkava MK4 what sacrifice tank to use?
it became 25.4 cm wide (10 inch)
the tracks would fit 3.3 cm on the aft, but i can make that a lot wider.(1.5 inch)
the lenght is 49cm(19.6 inch)at the tracks.
in the middle it is long about 42cm
if you can have a look that would be great.
thanks already
