Looks good - the early M4A1 has its own charm compared to the later ones. Well done!

The early full fenders remind one of the M3 precursor. They look like they are ready to be ripped off, yet through all the Sherman books I have, I don't recall many showing those early full fenders in terrible shape and anywhere but North Africa (maybe Russia). Again, to me the small-hatch, cast hull, cast turret Sherman is the quintessential one. I would like to switch the old plastic Mato over to the cast turret M4A1. Keep up the great work.

Quite right professor it is one of the early North Africa a1, the hatches though they don’t open are direct vision, they are still under development so I will eventually have some that open availible to those who want them but on this tank it will keep the un-opening prototypes. The gearbox cover has also been designed specifically for that tank and the top it’s self is the resin casting from ludwigs barv

The m3 isn’t the only tank that has had some attention though, the a1 has also has some new parts, as seen here the 3D printed sand skirt rails designed with enough spacing from the hull sides to allow skirts or other pieces like back pack to be tied on,

Also printed but not yet fitted a flimsy holder big enough for 2 cans, a photo of that will follow once fitted

Zoom in on the bottom picture to see the gap for tied items to be fixed

So many changes. They almost don't look like the same tank as the late model.

Yeah there’s quite a lot of work, the only parts that is from a factory made Sherman are the hull tracks sprockets and idlers, everything else is cast printed or plasticard

Exhibited Brute,

That is quite the change! But I really like it...a lot! The early skirts and fenders are very attractive, at least to me. And something that isn't seen often enough IMO.

Cheers,
Eric.
